Projects

Below is just a selection of previous projects, selected to demonstrate a diverse range of challenges.

Uplands Conference Centre:
When the main plant room at this prestigious 75 bedroom venue in High Wycome was refurbished, our challenge was to remove the existing control system and field wiring, fit a new control panel, complete with Trend control system, wiring to new boilers, pumps, pressure sets etc.  whilst causing no disruption to heating and hot water to the centre. This was achieved, despite the centre being at almost full occupancy for the duration of the project, which lasted several months.

Oakham Public School:
We have worked with this prestigious public boarding school for many years, implementing a long term programme of refurbishment to over 20 plant rooms. We have provided an ongoing maintenance service to the school's Satchnet system, and have installed several new control panels, bringing each online and integrating into the Satchnet system including the 'front end' graphics.

Fratton Pumping Station:
In a departure from our normal area, we were asked to supply a new control panel to provide control of the refuelling of railway engines. The existing system was antiquated and the challenge was to establish from site operatives how the system was intended to function, and provide a new control panel to provide this functionality. As is often the case, the client was unable to allow the system to be out of service for any length of time, so again this was achieved with very negligible downtime or disruption.

Oakham Castle:
This is a 12th century Norman castle, and the great hall is one of the finest examples of late 12th century domestic architecture in Britain. It was the residence of the lord of the manor of Oakham, and has been visited kings and queens through the centuries. When the heating system here was refurbished, we installed an Ambiflex control system. The challenge here was to keep the field wiring discrete, given the nature of the building.

Alliance & Leicester Building Society:
At the headquarters of this well known building society, we carried out the electrical and control wiring to over 70 new fan coil units in the ceiling voids. This project presented a different challenge still, in that the offices were occupied during working hours, and we had to carry out our work at nights, leaving no debris or materials, or any sign that we had been there during the night. Again, the project was completed, over several weeks, to the client's satisfaction.
